Hyperlocal efforts are being reexamined as the number of cutbacks and flameouts continues to grow. AOL will write off millions as they shut down over 400 sites and layoff hundreds. Why would anyone want to compete in this space of giants like AOL cannot pull it off.

It’s a tough question to answer, but national advertisers still want to spend money reaching communities locally. Local Yokel Media says a good local site should be enough.
